Love. Barrier. Sorrow. by ~Mechant-Loup:iconMechant-Loup:

Remove from my lids these eyes that keep,
Studious record of the strangers heart.
Tremulous, receding ebb.
As the echo of truculennt impulse
or the refraining lips of despondent love.
Returning, masochistic.

The courage of my soul lay curdled
By the witnessing of affections innumerable.
Lovers kiss upon the thrusted stage,
My part the rigid pointillism in the distant ether.
Myself a vouyer of my own sorrow,
Here likened to a cup over burdened.

Melting glacier tips to burst the membrane,
Fragile on the edge of it's world.
The avatar of heartache, blazing
Salt spiced trails and finally...
Airborne droplets with greater destinies
Than the soul that owned them.

An older poem I recently rediscovered on a scratched up disk.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Love: Noun: a strong positive emotion of regard and affection or any object of warm affection or devotion.

Barrier: Noun: a structure or object that impedes free movement or any condition that makes it difficult to make progress or to achieve an objective.

Sorrow: Noun: an emotion of great sadness associated with loss, bereavement or disappointment.

It's about the feeling one gets, being alone in a world full of lovers. I used to find myself almost suicidal everytime I saw a public show of affection. Hard times for me... Great for my muse.

I think it was inspired largely by that scene on the schoolyard in Donnie Darko Where everyone lives through a "System of Touch".
I remember feeling completely isolated from anything like that. As though humanity and I were opposing magnets... I still feel that way more often than I like to admit.
