Nightmares.
Discordant, accordion breath
Feet hanging off the edge of a cotton precipice
Waking to find your whispers lost
Where once they descended upon my ears, my heart, my sheets.
Audibly tumbling crystalline sounds from lips adored,
Descending In lazy rhythm, like snowflakes,
Affirming existence then, upon every waking moment, yet...
The silence collects like madness, screaming the nothing.
Animal shadows on my skin,
The umbral, window born half-life of light through raindrops
Recalling abruptly, the vulgarity of an empty casket.
Hands over pensive eyes, slaves to goodbye.
The universe is gone outside my window.
Only the rain falls here...
And all is quiet... In the ever after.
